Garden Girl
Patricia Moreno, the Garden Girl, was born in raised in New York City. She grew up in Spanish Harlem on Manhattan and was educated at Nightingale-Bamford School for girls. Her path to Urban Sustainable Living began in the mid 1990's, after graduating from Boston University with a degree in Broadcasting and Film, as she planted her first Urban Garden, with mixed success at best. Her first garden came about after gaining seventy pounds during her pregnancy, and needing a way to be physically active and eat healthier. This began her path to finding and learning ways to make gardening fun and also fit into the city. After reading Andy Lee and Patricia Forman's book "Chicken Tractor:The Permaculture Guide to Healthy Soil and Happy Hens" things began to click for her.  By taking their methods (and many others) and adapting them into an Urban Approprate model, which she has practiced and refined for almost a decade,  she has created a system that is healthy fun for the whole family. Patricia is currently producing season one of her Television and Home Video Series- Garden Girl: Urban Sustainable Living as well as the companion book. She lives in Boston on her Urban Farmette with her family and two dogs, two cats, 27 Rabbits, 14 Squirrels, 2 Goats, one hundred thousand worms,  and several hundred fish.
